A few words from the President
|
First I would like to thank Don Ducharme for his able leadership of Chapter 1314 and wish him the very best as he battles the unkind hand dealt him. I wish him a speedy recovery. Second I would like to thank Ken McGee, His knowledge of Keene airport and chapter 1314 is most valuable. Third I would like to thank? Bill O'Brien. He convinced me that I had the qualifications to be president of Chapter 1314. A little about myself, I am a low time pilot of 70 hours. I am building a RV-9A. Other than what I taught myself the last couple of years I know nothing about building aircraft or flying. So I am open to learning. The reason that I joined Chapter 1314 is the airport. Keene has a wonderful airport. It has the third longest runway in the state of New Hampshire. Runway 2/20 is 6201 feet long by 100 feet wide. Runway 14/32 is 4001feet long by 150 feet wide. The other two airports in NH with longer runways are Pease and Manchester. Pease is rather bumpy and Manchester has way to much traffic (IMHO). One way to make a first flight safer is to have lots of landing space, Keene has lots of landing space. I hope to have a chapter hanger at Keene airport, my first goal is to get a 501(c)3 I have great respect for those that have flown in the service and commercially, I hopefully, will learn from your experience. The EAA is for dreamers and builders, Lets get building! Warren Respectfully submitted 1/1/04 |
